Allowing 16 and 17 year olds to vote is a step in the right direction towards a more inclusive and representative democracy. These young people are already able to drive, pay taxes, and even join the military, so it only makes sense that they also have a say in the political decisions that will shape their future. Lowering the voting age sends a message that their voices and opinions matter, and that we value their contributions to society.
